365

I have joined the new craze among digital scrapbookers...and am taking one special picture a day and scrapping a week at a time. Here are the first three weeks of the year. I'm really hoping that I can keep this up all year. It would be fun to print a book after the year to show what we have done throughout the year of 2009

Thank You, Natalie.....

....for your nice comments about my blog. I really had fun doing it and found that it wasn't that hard. If you contact me by email, I'll be glad to chat with you about it. Since you commented using the blog, I don't have your email.

Mel, is This BOLD enough?

OK, I'm going to try to post this in bold, because my OLDER sister says it is hard to read the blog now. Must be failing eyesight that comes with age. ;) Hmmmm...maybe that is why I can't read anything without my glasses.

Also, an interesting article on Mexico to read here. Some will find this interesting.

P.S. Melodee, yes, it is easier to read in bold. Thanks for the suggestion.

Love Without Boundaries

Will you please take a minute and vote for Love Without Boundaries to win the Smart Cookie award? The award is for $35,000, and this money will go to help sick babies in China, who otherwise have no hope. Please read:

Babies like little Tai need a second chance . Isn’t he just so sweet? He was born with his bladder on the outside of his body. He needs a highly specialized surgery that will repair both his bladder and hips. Doctors in Hong Kong have donated their skills to be able to help him, but we need to raise money for his hospital costs.

We have a great way to help baby Tai, through the Cookie magazine contest going on right now. Casting your vote for LWB could give Tai a second chance at a healthy life, as part of the $35,000 grand prize would go to help him have the surgery he needs.

We heard that our link to the Smart Cookie Contest didn’t work for everyone – here is a shortened version we hope works better - http://snurl.com/9to8o. Please remember to pass the link onto your friends and family. It doesn’t cost anything and you can opt out of receiving anything from Cookie by checking the box. And hey, one lucky person who votes will win a trip to Mexico with their family. We would love for that to be an LWB friend!

What a view

A home we visited while in Casper. Can't you just imagine having that view out your window as you sipped your morning cup of coffee?

Happy Birthday, Taylor!

Taylor turned 7 on the 3rd of January. Here are some pics of his birthday celebration. He asked for pizza and pop for his birthday dinner. I broke down and bought a cake at Sam's Club, since we were leaving for Mexico the next morning, and I didn't really have time to bake something. That might be the only store bought birthday cake I've ever done. Sure was yummy! I bought three hot wheel motorcyles to decorate it with and that turned it into a hit!

Changes

Bear with me as I re-do the decorations here on my blog. I'm just trying to learn how to do one thing at a time, so it might take me a few days.

Ice Skating

On the 26th we went ice skating. Well....actually, Amanda, Crystal and Janelle skated, and the rest of us watched. Janelle did ok with the skates on, walking across the floor to the ice. Once on the ice was a different story. She is not real coordinated in things, so was pretty shaky on the ice. She held on to Amanda and Crystal for dear life as they made it around the rink one time. I let her rest for a few minutes, then told her she had to do it again. She does not have much stick-to-it-tiveness---so I thought it was important that she try again. The second time around she held on to the wall and walked around. The third time a couple of girls from the church who were also skating held her and got her around. I was pretty impressed that she made it a 4th and 5th time around the rink. She took one pretty hard fall after the 3rd round, but still made it around again.

Seems that blogger won't upload the pictures tonight, so I'll try again tomorrow.

More Christmas Pictures

Playing Catch Up

I'm going to put up a bunch of pictures from our trip to the States....but I'm not going to try to get everything in order, that will take too long and get frustrating.

Let's see...we have Matt and Crystal, Richard and kids, Lancy on the big screen via internet on Christmas morning, and sweet Jocelyn, 1 1/2.

Back to Mexico

We leave tomorrow morning, Jan. 3rd, to head back to Mexico. It should take us about 40 hours of driving to get there.

Tonight we are celebrating Taylor's 7th birthday! Tomorrow is his actual birthday, but we will be on the road, so we partied tonight. He asked for pizza and pop for his dinner, so that is what we had. We are thankful to have Taylor in our family. He is a great kid!

Please pray for us as we travel back home again.
